it’s the path of unbecoming

and becoming

who i set out to be

where a yellow brick road leads

for the hopes of an individuated me

where i finally feel free

where i finally believe

that i can accept myself

for who i was brought down

to be.

yes, it’s the path of becoming

and unbecoming

all of what i once used to be

that person who let you in

so intrusively

and it still remains true-

that what was instilled by you

was embraced by me

and that all of our behaviors

cycled

again & again…
